Our Impact

Reaching Communities Across Connecticut and Beyond

Every program we deliver is built with intention and community at the center. Through grant-funded initiatives and collaborative partnerships, CMWP Foundation has supported entrepreneurs, families, and young leaders across Connecticut with programming that combines education, connection, and real-world opportunity.

Below, you’ll find highlights from our community initiatives, funded programs, and media coverage that reflect the reach and results of our work.

Elevate Bloomfield

Bloomingfield, CT

Elevate Bloomfield is a CMWP Foundation partnership with the Town of Bloomfield designed to strengthen the local small business ecosystem through a community-informed approach to economic development.

From 2025–2026, we hosted five community forums and listening sessions to hear directly from Black, minority, and women-owned small business owners about the barriers they face and the resources they need to grow. Those insights guide the design and launch of a new small business support program for Bloomfield, delivering practical business development workshops, mentorship, financial literacy training, operational efficiency support, and access to a storefront improvement grant opportunity.

Elevate Bloomfield centers local voices and turns community feedback into targeted supports that expand equitable access to opportunity and help small businesses thrive.

Kidpreneur Business Expos
New Haven, CT

We hosted two Citywide Arts Culture Kidpreneur Business Expos that showcased youth entrepreneurship and celebrated creativity through family-friendly arts programming. These events provided child business owners with vendor tables to sell their products and services, helping them build confidence, customer service skills, and real-world business experience. Each Expo featured youth speakers, child singers and performers, face painting, and interactive programming. Lunch was provided for both children and adults, creating a welcoming, community-centered environment for families to learn, connect, and support the next generation of entrepreneurs.

CMWP & METROCOG
Bridgeport County

We partnered with MetroCOG to facilitate and coordinate a monthly series of programs and events serving entrepreneurs across the MetroCOG region. This initiative provided community-centered support for Black and minority-owned businesses through structured networking meetups, business coaching, practical workshops, holistic entrepreneurial wellness, and connections to local resources. The series was designed to strengthen business capacity, expand professional networks, and promote sustainable growth that supports long-term economic stability.

CMWP & CRCOG
Hartford County

We partnered with the Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) to deliver a monthly, curated series of programs and events across Hartford County in support of Black and minority-owned businesses. Through this grant-funded initiative, we coordinated programming that combined networking meetups, business coaching, skill-building workshops, and holistic entrepreneurial wellness. These events connected entrepreneurs to practical tools, trusted resources, and peer networks designed to strengthen business sustainability and improve long-term economic outcomes.
